Technician Plumber - (Job Grade S10)

The role of the Technician Plumber is repairing and maintaining plumbing works for smooth running of
building and ensure cost effective maintenance activities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Attending to plumbing works in buildings through repairs and maintenance of plumbing accessories.
  2. Maintenance and first aid repairs to the pumps in the property
  3. Repairs to the leakages in water supply pipes, waste water pipes, soil pipes, and sewage in general.
  4. Repair / replace taps, flexi pipes, bottle traps, water closet pans, cistern flush buttons/ valves, kitchen sinks wash hand basins, water storage tanks, ball valves, float switches in conjunction with the electrician.
  5. Check and fix leakages in the firefighting systems i.e hydrants both wet and dry and hose-reels leakages.
  6. Maintenance of the irrigation systems in the gardens, Water fountain.
  7. Unblocking of downpipes / Gutters, fulboras and ventcolws.
  8. Ensuring prior planning of the Preventive maintenance Schedule.
  9. Ensuring strict adherence to corrective maintenance plan and 1 hour TAT- Turn Around time.
  10. Maintain and handle Health and safety citations to ensure compliance for the building.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Certificate in plumbing - Artisan Grade I
  • Diploma is an added advantage

Professional Qualifications:

  • At least two years experience.
  • Grade I technician.

Project Management

The Projects department was established in 2001 as part of real estate solutions dealing in construction projects Managment. The department operates at the head office in Upper Hill Nairobi and the three branch offices in Mombasa, Nakuru and Eldoret. 

The team comprises of the Chief Projects Manager assisted by three civil engineers and construction managers with support from two clerks of work, two electricians and three plumbers. 

Project Managment Functions

  • Supervision of building repairs in our property management portfolios
  • Maintenance management and planning
  • Supervision and performance measurement of service providers in the construction industry
  • Setting  up the estimates and preliminary development budgets
  • Development of the construction timetable for the client and establishment of the construction strategy.
  • Selection of subcontractors and workers, and provides required explanations for the builders and other professionals associated with the project,
  • Co-coordinating and collaborating with the architects, engineers and specialists.
  • Ensuring the construction project complies with all building codes and any other legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Carrying our construction project audits at the various phases (preliminary, design, construction and operations phase).

The team comprises of the Head of Agency assisted by four sales and letting officers, three marketing managers with support from fifteen sales and letting officers and four administrative assistants.
